Your heart rules your brain!

Here’s a short clip of Rollin McCraty from the Institute of HeartMath talking about the relationship between the heart and the brain. Did you know that the heart sends far more information to the brain than the other way round? Researchers at the Institute now believe that the heart contains a brain of its own.

The Institute of HeartMath have produced a booklet describing the history of the research and scientific findings. You can access this on their website here. Even if you don’t read the whole thing, do have a browse through - it’s just incredible.

[The Institute of Heartmath was set up almost twenty years ago to carry out research on heart-brain interactions, and the effect of emotions on human physiology. Scientists working at the Institute are currently interested in furthering scientific understanding of the human biofield, intuition and the emotional energetic system].

Example of successful integration between GPs and CAM practitioners
