The Research Council for Complementary Medicine was formed in 1983 in London by CAM and orthodox researchers and  practitioners to increase the evidence base for integrated healthcare.

More recently, RCCM has set up the CAMEOL (Complementary and Alternative Medicine Evidence Online) database in collaboration with the School of Integrated Health at the University of Westminster. This is a searchable database for certain conditions and a number of CAM modalities.
